Ben RubensteinIt’s a family business we drinkers wouldn’t mind inheriting: in 2006, the Horizon Beverage Company elected Benjamin Rubenstein, part of the company’s fourth generation of owners, to the position of executive vice president of wine. Currently the third-largest wine company in the state, Horizon represents everything from the guiltiest of pleasures, like Franzia wine-in-a-box (we’re glad to hear that Rubenstein’s no wine snob), to high-end bottles from producers like Harlan Estate, Hundred Acre, Sassicaia, and Ornellaia. Rubenstein might have merlot running through his veins, but he still manages to make time for a well-rounded life: he’s also an avid telemark skier, golfer, and live-music fan.
