Jason RedmondLA export Jason Redmond came to Boston in 2001 with stars in his eyes and dreams of old-Hollywood greatness. Well, not exactly. First Redmond did some time at a local ad agency; then he dreamed up the Independent Film Festival of Boston, which made its debut in 2003. As executive director, Redmond brings in influential filmmakers, actors, and producers for six days of screenings, parties, and more; last year’s festival drew over 20,000 Bostonians, and Redmond is hoping for even bigger things in 2007 (mark your calendar: the festival takes place April 25 through 30). Of course, the movie buff is already looking ahead to ’08, planning more films, more venues, and — watch out, Tribeca Film Festival — more notoriety among the cinematic set.
