Speaking of coffee, the geniuses at
Tremont 647 (647 Tremont Street, Boston, 617.266.4600) — under the tutelage of grand high genius Andy Husbands — have combined several of my favorite liqueurs with espresso to create one of the most eyeopening brunch cocktails in town. You can also wear your pajamas to this brunch, but don’t worry about appearing blearyeyed: the Cappuccino Martini ($9) mixes espresso with Stoli Vanil, Baileys, and Kahlua. (I defy any Seattle-based coffee chain to try and top this one.) If you prefer juice to jumpstart your day, not to worry: the 647 Breakfast Martini ($7.50) kicks up your OJ a notch by adding Stoli Ohranj and Cointreau. Take that, Tropicana. Keeping with the twist on traditional breakfasts, Tremont 647 serves a homemade version of the beloved Pop Tart ($5). You’ll pitch your toaster out the window after sinking your teeth into one of these blissful, fruity delights. Trust us: manufactured toaster pastries will be forever ruined.
